Bangladesh is a tropical country and the best time to travel is during the winter months (October to March) when the weather is mild by European standards. Main Tourist Attractions include : colourful tribal life, longest sea beach, home of the Royal Bengal Tigers, largest tea gardens and exotic reverine life. The Capital City : Dhaka is home to over 4 million people. For most of the year it is warm with bright sunshine, but during the Monsoons there's heavy rainfall. During the winter months (November to March) it is cool and pleasant. Typical summer temperatures range between 30 to 37 degrees celsius while in the winter it is a lot milder, ranging between 10 to 20 degrees.
The Sundarbans : In the south western part of Bangladesh, in the district of Khulna, lies the Sundarbans meaning beautiful forest is the natural habitat of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, crocodiles, jungle fowl, wild boar, lizards, rhesus monkey and an innumerable variety of beautiful birds.
Sylhet : Nestled in the picturesque Surma Valley amidst scenic tea plantations and lush green tropical forests, Sylhet is a prime attraction for all tourists visiting Bangladesh.
Among the several places of historical interest in Sylhet town is the shrine of Saint Hazrat Shah Jalal. Even today, more than six hundred years after his death, the shrine is visited many people who come from far away. Legend says, the great Saint who came from Delhi to preach Islam and defeated the then Hindu King transformed the followers of the King into catfishes which are still alive in the tank near the shrine.
Here the thick tropical forests abound with many species of wild life, scented orange groves and luxuriant pineapple plantations spread their aroma around the typical hearth and homes of the Manipuri Tribal maidens famous for their dance.
