14th Centuary
The influx of muslims from Samarkand, Balkh and Abyssinia continued. Cities developed, palaces, forts, mosques, roads and bridges were consructed ; Prosperity broughht a new cultural life.
15th centuary
In 1520, the sultanate of Delhi was overthrown by Babur. For the first time in 1576, the Moghuls managed to take control of Bengal. Babur's grandson Akbar finally defeated Sultan Daud Karrani at the battle of Tukaroi. Bengal became a province of the Moghul Empire.
16th centuary
The capital was moved to Dhaka from Gaur and Bengal was opened to the world maritime trade. Their lifestyle was mostly influenced by the persians. particularly by the sufis (muslim mystics).
